About

After growing up reading stacks of books, hiking in the Sierra Nevada, and creating plays with her friends, Shannon moved to the beautiful state of New Jersey to get her bachelor’s in English and Theater from Princeton University and to London to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She has since worked in her hometown of Los Angeles and in the Pacific Northwest in theatre and indie film. As a writer, she studied under Irish writers Colm Toibin and Marina Carr. She has loved her many visits to Ireland and the opportunity to stay on her great-grandparents’ farm. Her screenplays have placed in the Top-50 for the Nicholl Fellowship and been finalists in numerous other fellowship competitions. She is currently finishing the third draft of her first novel. And thanks to an unusual and prolonged stint of sailing tall ships in her teens and twenties, she holds a Merchant Marine license from the U.S. Coast Guard.
